FAQs

The Cutera XEO Laser Genesis is a non-invasive laser treatment that aims to restore skin tone and treat fine lines, wrinkles, scars, large pores, and active acne. This heat-based laser helps stimulate the body’s natural healing processes to boost collagen growth, which may result in a more youthful skin tone and texture. This treatment may be effective in treating rosacea, melasma, acne, and other scars.

What is Laser Genesis?

Laser Genesis is a breakthrough laser treatment that stimulates the skin’s natural processes to reverse the signs of aging and sun damage and promote a vibrant, healthy looking complexion. Laser Genesis therapy may be an effective treatment that helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and make the skin look younger by improving its elasticity, making any scars you have less visible, rebuilding broken capillaries, treating rosacea, and diffusing redness in the skin.

How does a laser genesis treatment work?

Micro-pulses of laser energy activate collagen remodeling to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and target unwanted brown spots and facial redness. Although the individual treatment results are subtle, the overall effect of a treatment series can be quite dramatic.

What are the benefits of laser genesis?

Laser Genesis helps restore your skin’s youthful glow and appearance by improving common concerns like facial redness, brown spots, and fine lines and wrinkles. With quick treatments and no downtime, Laser Genesis can fit into your busy schedule and is considered the perfect lunchtime procedure by many patients.

What areas can be treated?

Laser Genesis is an ideal treatment for the face and neck, and other areas of the body with noticeable signs of aging, sun damage or scarring.

How many treatments are required?

A series of four to six Laser Genesis treatments are recommended to achieve an optimal outcome, and ongoing maintenance treatments are encouraged to sustain results over time. Your Laser Genesis provider will discuss a treatment plan during your consultation.

What does laser genesis feel like?

You will experience a gentle warming of your skin’s surface during the procedure. Patients often describe the treatment as relaxing and therapeutic.

What are possible side effects?

You may notice a slight redness which will resolve within a few hours. Apply sunscreen and makeup, and return to your normal daily activities immediately.

IS LASER GENESIS FOR ME?

If you have been seeking a quick, no-downtime procedure to gently improve your overall complexion that gives you that #cameraready appearance, Laser Genesis is the treatment for you!

What are the costs of treatment?

As with any procedure, the costs depend on the specific condition for which treatment is being provided. For minor conditions only requiring a single cycle of treatment, the cost generally ranges between $250-$1,000. For conditions that affect a large portion of the skin and require additional treatment sessions, the price increases proportionally.

How does Laser Genesis work?

Laser Genesis works by gently heating the levels of the skin just beneath the surface. With collagen regeneration, cosmetic concerns such as facial wrinkles, enlarged pores, uneven skin texture, rosacea treatment, and other issues may be treated.

Is Laser Genesis an IPL laser?

No, Laser Genesis is a YAG-based laser facial that is safe for all skin types. By gently heating the dermis, Laser Genesis rebuilds collagen, evens skin tone, reduces redness, shrinks pores, and fades hyperpigmentation from acne or melasma. It can also be used to improve the appearance of scars and treat active acne. Unlike an IPL, it does not require pre-numbing as the discomfort is minimal to none. It does not have any downtime as redness and erythema are minimal usually and resolves within hours.

Will Laser Genesis remove hair?

Although this device has not been optimized for hair removal, patients should be advised that hair removal may occur as a result of these treatments.

Is Laser Genesis better than microneedline?

Microneedling is an invasive treatment that uses a microneedling device with multiple fine needles to pierce and needle the skin, which causes collagen remodeling and enhances skin rejuvenation. Different from an exfoliating treatment, microneedling penetrates the lower layers of the skin to kickstart the body’s wound-healing response to begin producing new collagen.

Compared to laser genesis, microneedling is slightly more intense due to the mechanical nature of the treatment and, for most, requires pre numbing. Laser Genesis is non-invasive and has shown scientifically proven collagen stimulation, with visible results three months after a treatment series.
